Description: Yew can range from a fairly straight grained yellow wood to a pippy yew (remains of thin twig growth)and on to the sort of wood this box is from - a deep orange, knarled twisted grained wood. Wood like this has probably come from an ancient guardian of an old churchyard.
I was fortunate to find this yew and I hope I've done justice to its remarkable character
